Word Around Baker More In addition, several students on campus were athletes before coming to Baker and want to continue a healthy lifestyle by working out. If the fitness center is always filled with athletes at practice times, there is no room for anyone else to work out, either. One of the obvious solutions to this problem would be to request the university purchase more exercise machines. While that may seem like a simple solution to us, it may not be reasonable because of the expense.

All students and Student Fitness Center members can participate in group fitness at no extra charge. We encourage students to participate in group fitness throughout the whole semester, but Halloween gives us a good excuse to just have fun and give away prizes, Lunkenheimer said. It is recommended to exercise at least three to five times a week for at least 30 minutes, Swearingen said. The time can be split up during the day, however. Registering prior to the classes is not necessary.
